It wasn't an easy win for the Lakers since everybody knew that it is Boston's homecourt. One of the factors why teams playing outside of their homecourt tend to lose is the boost of fans. It is the Celtics' homecourt advantage but am damn proud that the Lakers didn't mind the advantage. It just proves that Lakers is still the best team on the NBA! And they are versatile and skilled at playing as one. Cheers Lakers! High and Mighty! Facebook applications help me to detoxify my stressed life. I am happy that facebook has a lot of applications, no wonder why people are into facebook these days, I can’t seem to have a lot of blog lurking these days! They are all at facebook! Tsssk…

Anyhoo, I’ve heard about facebook on the year 2007, but I didn’t signed up for it because I don’t have a lot of friends there, everyone I know were on friendster! haha. So, on the year 2008 when facebook was now the ultimate internet sensation, I signed up for I don’t want to be called a dinosaur by some friends! hahaha. I just wish that people would add me up on some of the applications I am recently playing. At first, money making wasn’t really my top priority when I started blogging, I wanted to prove something for myself that time and then later on I learned about making money while blogging, so I said why not try it, I won’t lose anything somehow( well I was wrong, dead wrong). I have established a good rapport to some bloggers whom later on became friends, they were the one who influenced me to write paid posts.. So it was a win-win situation! I also learned some tips about getting good backlinks from credible websites whose page ranks are greater than 3. It’s hard to built a blog with pagerank greater than three so be contented with a pagerank of 3 when you are still a starter, a pagerank of 3 can go a long way in terms of paid posts, believe me.

I have managed to get some good backlinks through commenting on other bloggers’ blog posts, posts that have quality content, now the result to this is a little bit slower than you think, it will take up to about 3-4 months before you can see the changes, but I believe this is a much better work than having that PR Storm that people are talking about. I don’t want to cause any untoward incidents for your blog nor for mine. PR Storm is a little bit overrated perse for starters and as they say, slowly but surely! You can also check this site out, hopefully it can help you. It teaches everyone a step by step method about getting good backlinks. Another one is your blog post quality of content which I believe is of importance to SEO or Search Engine Optimization, you can google about SEO if you want, there are tons of posts about it.

Well, as for me I am greatly honored to have had a few blogs that have reached pagerank 3 before until such time google changed thier criteria for giving out pageranks, I was the lucky few to have had got a staggering pagerank of zero for both of my sites - that happened early 2008. I think what happened before was that of carelessness and selfishness. I was eager to accept paid posts so much that I didn’t mind what will occur in the next few months for my blog. That’s life, sometimes you just have to sacrifice something in order for you to learn your lesson. and that lesson takes place in a later period that might cause so much trouble on you, a person, or a thing.

That incident really made me swore not to blog anymore, but I’m still here! I’m still here because I love blogging and the benefits I can get from it, building friendship, expanding my network, rant about my silly old life, and of course earn a little bit of money. hahaha. So go on, start commenting on blog posts like this one I sure love to hear you out! :P

Difference of a Davaoeño

This was from a friend Yukki Gallardo…, I kinda liked it, so I posted it in here…

How can one distinguish a Davaoeño from a Cebuano? Or to a Cagayanon? Difficult? Easy! Davaoeños are one of the most unique people in the world. We can easily stand out if we are placed in a crowd of Filipinos from other parts of the country. And how, you say? Language.
Davao City, aptly called the melting pot of cultures, is home to many dialects. Tagalog, Cebuano, Ilonggo, Ilocano, Chavacano, Moslem, Bicolano. Name it, we’ll speak it. If the Filipino language is a composition of all the dialects and languages in the Philippines, you might as well say that the language we speak in Davao City is the real Filipino language, and not Tagalog. However, since it is hodgepodge of different tongues, it is sometimes funny to hear our language “bastardizing” for a lack of better word, the other dialects. Strangely, that distinguishes us from the rest. Try these…
In stating a fact:

Manileños say:

“Talagang mabait si Weng”

In Davao, we say:

“Mabait bitaw gyud si Weng”

Too assertive?

One asks,

“Ano nga yung pangalan mo?”

In Davao we say,

“Ano gani yong pangalan mo?”

When somebody commits mistake or surprises someone, we always never fail to say “Halaka! Duh!”

We are fond of re-constructing the language.

There’s the GI + verb, such as “Gisabi kasi ni Helen na mag-absent si Bernard bukas” or “Ginanon”. You’ll never find “ginanon” in any language in any dictionary, I swear…

There’s the KA + Adjective, as in, “Kaputi gyud ng mukha ni Yang-Yang” or “Kapayat gyud ni Jason ngayon”.

The MAKA + verb form, such as, “Makainis talaga si Albert uy!” or “Makauwi na talaga ako ng matagal ngayon”

The Nag + verb, as in “Nagsabi kasi si Tita Precy na pupunta daw tayo ng airport” or “Hindi pa man siya nagdating dun uy!”

Adding new words or new meaning to old words to the dictionary is one of our favorite past time.

NAKIN:

“Alam man nakin ‘yan ba!”, “Saan nakin kita nakita gani?”

KU-AN:

“Ku-an daw ang gawin mo”, “Si ku-an kasi ano masyado”. (Non sense at all).

ANO:

“Na-ano ka diyan, Bryan?!”, “Ano man yan si Van uy!”

HA:

“Lake-ha na ng tiyan ni Lulu uy!”, “Gwapa-ha niya uy!”

BEH:

“Sige daw beh, dare!”, “Pakipasa dawn g ballpen ni Tzaris beh”.

KAY:

“Huwag na, Wowie, kay nandito naman si Norma”, “Umupo ka muna kay nasa-CR pa si Elma”.

To express disgust over someone, we utter, “Gago kaba diay para maniwala sa kanya”, or “Ano man yan siya uy!”, or when pestered when doing something, you’d quip “Huwag lagi ba!”
On the other hand, when we praise somebody extra special deed or talent, our Davaoeño tongue slips words like “Kuyaw lagi yan siya!”, “Galenga niya uy!”, “Ayusa niya uy!”, “Kuyawa ni Orly uy!” or “Hindi ako makatu-o sa ginawa niya!”
Hay, makatawa talaga. Ooops! There are just too many words to mention. Just check out the words you spew everyday. Sometimes you just laugh at yourself when you realize that you’ve just said those very words. No matter how long you stay in Manila or in the States, the moment you back to Davao, your tongue feels as at home as you do. Language is the very soul of every being.

You just can’t do anything about it. Or as how we say it “Anuhin man natin yan?”
Hope you enjoyed reading this…

Philippines: A Third World? Think Again.

Who said that the Philippines still belongs to the third world? One day, the day when the Big Brother SWAP was announced, I researched about Slovenia (Just out of curiosity, though I know it is located in Europe near Italy. Mind you, a scientist must have a curious mind… Hence, I am a scientist in the making! SWEET! HAHA.). And so I searched on the net about Slovenia. And my search brought me to Youtube ( where the world's coolest and lousiest vids are located). I saw one media news in Slovenia, talk about the Philippines, I can't comprehend with the language though, but the video has a lot of bad side of the Philippines rather than the good side. And I was irritated and searched for some of the good stuffs the Philippines has to offer, gladly, I saw an article that talked about third world countries.

Yes, my title was really right! Who said that the Philippines still belongs to the Third World? Haha! We don't belong anymore to the Third World, nor to the Second World. We're in the group they call Newly Industrialized Countires - "Countries that have more advanced economies than developing nations in the Third World but have not yet attained the level of developed countries in the First World." Love it! Mwahahahahaha! Now there's no reason why you would not want to be a Filipino eh? Hehehe… The growth of the Philippines nowadays is fast, a lot of big foreign investments and I know we are worthy of it. We worked hard for it! Kudos for us!!! Hahahaha!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://flipnidus.blogspot.com/2007/12/philippines-third-world-think-again.html' title='Philippines: A Third World?
